The container for beauty products is a theme which fascinates me. I am interested in the relation which establishes between the function of the object and the imaginary of it. Their being complementary to one another is obvious. An instrument thought to serve beauty transcends it.
I consider the packaging project for cosmetics as a trial to conquer the primitive unity again that ties the magic of rite to the art and exercise of beauty. I continue to say that the container is a 3D micro story, a deposit of communication, which connects the past to the future. An object, when achieved successfully, crushes the concept of time to powder and still it remains always alive thanks to the authenticity of its invention.
In tools for cosmetics the small scale attracts me. In many votive handmade works originating from ancient times, the miniaturization is the art of handling the technical complexity and the standardization. A phenomenon of manual virtuosity connected to the function of portability, to the market and to the sentiment of dedication and offering. The object in a small scale is familiar to us because it is portable. It remains in touch with the person who adopts it. The case for the make-up as well becomes a talisman for beauty.
